On Removal Torque to the Difference Between Bicorticalzation Method and Unioncorticalization Method when Installation of Screw Implant at Rabbit Tibia

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of corticallization on interfacial
strength between bone and implant.
20 screw shaped-pure titanium implants were inserted into the tibial metaphyses at 10
rabbits. The implants were divided into two group :
First, the control group was inserted with the diameter of 6mm at one tibia. And the
second, the experimental group was inserted with the diameter of 10mm implants at the
other side.
After 12 weeks, animals were sacrificed and the removal torque was measured with
15 BTG-N torque gauge manometer.
The results were as follows :
7 value of removal torque was obtained.
The 6mm fixture showed average 33.9 Ncm(S.D.=11.1) and the 10mm fixture shows
7.19 Ncm(S.D=13.4), (student t-test, p=0.0000)
